This challenge was to use up some of your leftover holiday stuff that you have lying around... for me it is bakers twine. I added bakers twine to my presents and tags under the tree, but I still have a lot of twine leftover. I made this card by embossing the poinsettias in silver embossing powder on top of the grey cardstock. I then added the twine to the top of the card.

Make It Monday #44 - Glitter Masking

Hi everyone. I am so happy to see this week's MIM challenge encouraging us to use glitter. I have a lot of glitter that I never use. So today I had no more excuses, out the glitter came. I also had some sticky sentiments that are specifically meant to use glitter on. They are sticky on the top so the glitter adheres to it. I cut the circle with a circle punch at 2" and inked the edges with distress ink. I then added the sentiment and the glitter. I stamped the rose from Year of the Flowers Collection onto the pattern paper.

Make It Monday #43: Ribbon Pleating

My ribbon pleating does not look like Dawn's.... :( I guess I need more practice. I made this card for this week's MIM challenge for ribbon pleating. Anyway, I stamped the background with a Recollections stamp with music notes, then I stamped the poinsettia and colored it with Copics. I added chunky glitter to the outside of the petals. I also added some gold paint to the inside of the poinsettia.

I am so happy that I had the time to participate in this month's Blog Hop for Papertrey Ink. I loved the inspiration photo and was thrilled to get stamping. I stamped the label with the poinsettias from Year of the Flower collection and the holly leaves from Tag It #9. I also added a fun velvet ribbon to the card. Can you see that I wrapped some baker's twine around the ribbon? Well that is because the ribbon in double sided and I could not get that part of the middle to show the front velvet side. So I hid it with some baker's twine.

Make It Monday #42: Layered Background with Sentiment Stamps

Hi everyone:

I created this card for this week's MIM challenge for Papertrey Ink. I started by stamping the sentiment from Harvest Berries onto pattern paper in crushed olive (Distress Ink). I then added some ink to the edges of the card. I also stamped the stamped the sentiment in the center with Black Soot (Distress Ink). I cut the sunflower using Simple Sunflowers and the stamping the flower on top. I cut the leaves with the same die with green pattern paper.

I made this quick card by stamping the large poinsettia from Papertrey Ink's stamp set, Year of the Flower: Poinsettia with white embossing powder on red paper. I then cut around the flower and adhered it onto this adorable pattern paper by Making Memories (Mistletoe). To finish the card I hand drew a frame around the card.

Make It Monday #41: Glueing Technique

Hi everyone: I created this Holiday card for this week's Papertrey Ink's challenge. I love this technique and use it quite often.... so often in fact that I did not have any glue refil for my glue pad. Well I added some Tombow mono glue to my glue pad and it worked like a charm!

For my card I stamped the large leaves from Harvest Berries (in the glue) and added some green glitter. The green was this gorgeous color that had specks of gold glitter in it. I then added the red glitter to the little dots. As you can see in one leaf the red got into the green, but I did not mind the look. I stamped the sentiment on a banner and adhered it on top of the leaves. The paper comes from an old hymm book that I bought years ago at a vintage store. Many of the pages were torn and worn.... a crafter's dream!

A day to Remember. I hope you are taking a moment to remember the veterans and soldiers past and present. I also hope you take today to see how special this day in time is.

I have a couple of projects to show you today, the first one is a Bella card using one of my most favorite stamps released by her. Love this stamp. Isn't she just so cute!

I colored her with Copics and kept it quite simple. I added glitter dots to white cardstock to make it look like ti was snowing. Very pretty effect in real life.

I also wanted to show a photo of the loot bag that I made for my oldest son's 10th birthday. 10 years old! Crazy. He wanted a low key birthday at home with friends. They had a great time playing video games and eating pizza. I made this loot bag using Papertrey Ink's Boy Basics: Game On.

I stamped both images onto the scalloped cardstock and then added lots of Tim Holtz glossy accents. Love how it look.

Make It Monday #39: Multi-stamp Background Building

I am so happy to be using my new stamps. I used the adorable mistletoe from Tremendous Treats and the little dots are from Harvest Berries. They fit perfectly... I love that!! The sentiment is also from Tremendous Treats. I also added some twine from Martha Stewart. If you can see I added some white glitter to the bows.

Timbits Cake Pops.

So I have wanted to make cake pops for a long time, but sadly, I don't know how to bake. Well fear not, I made these yummy cake pops with TIMBITS!!! Basically Timbits are donuts holes for us Canadian folks. They were super easy to make. First melt the chocolate in the microwave (I used the waffer ones). Then add the lollypop stick to the Timbit (add a little bit of chocolate to the end to the stick so they stay inside). Then dip the donuts into the chocolate and add your toppings (ie sprinkles, sugar, etc). Then cool them in the fridge till the chocolate hardens.

Hi everyone. I have two posts today so make sure you check out my fun Halloween project below this post. I made this card for this month's Papertrey Ink blog hop. I really liked the polka-dots on the photo inspiration so I wanted to incorporate that into my card. I embossed the "seeing dots" embossing folder onto white paper and then added some Spiced Marmalade distress ink. I then stamped the leaves from "Delightful Dahlias" and colored them in various fall colors. I hand cut the large leaf at the top of the label. The sentiment comes from "Mailbox Greetings."

I cut the bats in plain black cardstock and adhered them onto the wall with pop dots. I curved the wings a bit for more realism.

I made this card for this week's CAS-ual Friday Blog Challenge. I wrapped twine around a piece of kraft cardstock adhering all the ends to the back with tape. I then added a spider cut with the Cricut. I added black glitter to Mr. Spider!

Another Christmas card using my poinsettia from Year of the Flower Collection? Big surprise! I love this stamp. I just ordered a big Papertrey Ink order... I am so excited. My hubby is going to San Fransisco on business so he can pick it up for me. I am taking advantage of the "free shipping to the States." I can't wait to get my order. I got the large version of this poinsettia , tremendous treats, harvest berries, an awesome flower die... and more. I will show my goodies when I get them.

Anyway, onto the card. I stamped the poinsettia in two different shades of red onto kraft paper. I then stamped the sentiment from "Mailbox Greetings" and covered it with UTEE. I did a few layers of the embossing and then cracked it to create that awesome look.

What great timing, I was making Christmas cards when this week's MIM video came up. Perfect opportunity to use this cute little poinsettia from Year of the Flowers Collection. I stamped the flower with Barn Door by Ranger onto kraft paper. Then I used the technique shown in the video. I did some white stitching on the edges and the sentiment in the center.

There are times in life when you realize that you are not alone in the world... sure you have family and yes you have friends... .but when strangers come out to help, that is when you realize how awesome the world truly is. I am entering this card in the CAS-ual Friday Blog Hop they are raising money for Julie's and the massive dental bills that she has. I wanted to create a card that made Julie smile. I created this card by stamping the little sun and clouds onto white cardstock and coloring them with Copics. I also added a lot of glitter to the smiling sun.

Make It Monday #35: Custom Stamped Washi Tape

Make your own Washi Tape.... GET OUT OF TOWN! What a great idea. Definitely filing this one away to do again later. I made the tape with tissue paper, I did not have ANY tissue paper so I ran sacked my house looking for some. Then I remembered that I just got "Year in Flowers Collection"... so I ran downstairs and looked in the recycling bin for it. Whoo hoo! It was there. You should have seen me taking out all the garbage looking for some tissue paper.

I stamped the strips with my Year in Flowers Collection in different colors. I then glued the strips on the kraft paper. I did not have any scor-tape, but will be adding that to my collection.

TGIF! I hope you are having a good first day of Fall! I thought to celebrate this day I would make a fall card. I did this card for this week's CAS-ual Friday challenge. I cut the leaves using Flower Shoppe (Cricut) at 2.5" in different shades of rust. I cut the leaves and then used Tim Holtz distressed inks to give them a little dimension. I added the leaves to the dictionary paper which was adhered to the kraft cardbase. An easy Thanksgiving card!

I created this card by stamping the flowers from Green Thumb first in "Chipped Sapphire" and then stamped on top the white ink. Can you see the frosted look? I stamped the polka dots also using the white ink. To finish the card I added some bling to the flowers.

Paint or Mist Color Challenge

I made this card for this week's challenge by Embellish Magazine. The challenge was to use Mist and/or Paint. I used both of these mediums. First I sprayed the turquoise mist onto cream cardstock and then I stamped the musical notes using white paint. I stamped the umbrella onto pattern paper and paper pieced it onto the paper. The sentiment and umbrella are from Scattered Showers by Papertrey Ink.

Great Fun! I really love doing challenges, someone they are the sole reason for my getting into my crafting room and creating cards. I made this card by cutting the kraft paper to 4" x 4" and stamping the typewriter (Stamping Bella). I stamped the hearts (Martha Stewart Valentine Stamp) in red to imply that it is a love letter. I then used glossy accents on the keys of the typewriter.

Use paper piecing on your Fall themed Clean And Simple project.

Great challenge set by CAS-ual Friday's Blog. Paper Piecing is one of my favorite techniques. I picked a Halloween theme, because it just so happens to be my favorite holiday. I stamped this image a few times, the first time straight onto kraft paper. The second time onto the white polka-dotted paper and then onto black and so on. I stamped the sentiment and then heat embossed it white embossing powder.

The cute little stamp is by Inkadinkado called Trick or Treat.

Okay, who can guess what book inspired this card..... CLIFFORD! Coincidentally I read a book by Clifford to my son the night I made this card. Once I saw the cover I just knew I had to create a card with him in mind. I cut a dog from a pattern paper by Basic Grey, this sheet has lots of dogs on it. I hand cut one and colored him with a red copic. The dog was originally yellow and orange. I kept the card simple by just adding a sentiment in a speech bubble.

Good Morning!!! Hope everyone is having a good day today. We are on our way to the CNE, a yearly tradition for us. It is a giant fair that has lots of great games and rides. Before I go however, I made this card for this month's Papertrey Ink Blog Hop. The challenge was to create a card using the above photo as inspiration. I would have loved to use the Friendship Jar Stamp, but sadly I don't have it. Instead I was inspired by the flower in the photo.

I stamped the little flowers from "Green Thumb" onto a page from an old book that I had. I made the paper look vintage by adding some Tim Holtz Stain in Old Paper and then using sand paper to scrape some of the font away. I then added some ribbon at the bottom.

I created this card by embossing the cream paper with a cuttlebug folder, but before I embossed it I inked the the folder with red ink and then I put the paper inside the folder. I am entering this card for this week's challenge over at Papertrey Ink. This time we needed to create a card with a glitter die border. I cut the label with my Cricut, and added glitter to the edges of the label and the then around the label. I stamped the branch from "Out On a Limb" onto kraft paper and added some flowers from the same set. I stamped the flowers with pink paint and added some dots with a dark pink paint. I also added some leaves using distressed inks.

CAS-ual Friday blog has challenged us to create a clean and simple project that features embossing--dry embossing, embossing folders, or heat set embossing.

I created this card by embossing the background and then rubbing some distress inks on top to make some of the raised dots green. I also added some extra detail by adding some gloss with a gel pen to the dots. I actually thought the gloss was going to turn clear and not white, so then I colored these white dots with green to make them less bright and noticeable. I stamped the frog and colored him in green using Copics, then I I colored him again with a Versamark pen and heat embossed him with clear embossing powder. He is all bumpy and slimy looking.

Hope everyone is having a good summer so far. We are loving ours and sadly it is almost over... boo-hoo. I don't want school to start. I love having my boys home. We spend our days at the pools and our evening curled up on the couch watching TV.

Anyway, I made this card for this week's Tuesday Trigger. Loved that dress and all the fun colors. I cut different strips of scrap paper and adhered them to kraft cardstock. I inked each strip with black distressed ink. I then added some butterflies and a sentiment. A great way to use up all those straps of paper that you have lying around.

Make It Monday #27: Custom Copic Striped Ribbon

How has it already been 27 challenges by Papertrey Ink? Life goes by so quickly when you are crafting. I made this card for this week's MIM. This time we needed to custom make a ribbon using our Copics. I colored this white ribbon with yellow stripes with a light blue copic. I also added some green to the middle of the ribbon but you can't really see it in the photo.

The stamp set is one of my favorite ever... Lily of the Valley. I colored the leaves with Copics and the flowers with grey Copic. I also stamped the ribbon with a sentiment from Cupcake Collection.

I stamped the umbrella in white using staz-on and then added more white with some white prismacolor. I then sprayed the brown paper with bleach giving it a very vintage feel.

Hi everyone: I hope everyone has a great long weekend. I made this card for two different challenges. The first one is for the CAS-ual Friday's Blog Challenge. For that challenge we needed to create a 4x9 card. I love this size, but don't normally create them. So it was definately a fun one to play with. Then I incorporated the colors of the Embellish Blog Challenge: Navy, Cream, Brown and Kraft. For the second challenge we also needed to incorporate pattern paper. I know you are going to say; "Gaby, that is not a giraffe pattern" and yes, you would be right, but it was a fun pattern and I just went with it.

I cut the giraffe from the Cricut Cart - Create a Critter. The giraffe has been cut to 8". I added a fun navy blue tie to the giraffe and a rub on for the sentiment.

I created this card by stamping the Lily of the Valley flower in grey ink onto the pink cardstock. I then adhered the cardstock to a dark gray background. Moxie Fab World did it again.... Cath posted an awesome challenge to create a card that incorporates the botanical style in an innovative way. As soon as I saw this I ran (okay more like moseyed) to my studio to create a card. Recently I bought this amazing paper pack by Tim Holtz (Idea-ology KRAFT RESIST Paper Stash ) and I knew that it would be perfect for this challenge.

I cut the butterflies and adhered it to the script paper. I created the background by stamping "I am Script" by Stamping Bella onto kraft paper using walnut ink distress ink.

I made this card for a sweet friend of mine who is going to be celebrating their 3rd year wedding anniversary. I didn't really have much time to complete this card (blame the summer), so kept it quite simple. I used different scraps from my always growing scrap collection. The sweet birdies are from Cosmo Cricket - Garden Variety collection. I inked all the edges with shabby shutters and added twine and a little flower.

Cas-ual Friday's Blog posted a fun new challenge: Shaped Cards. Fun!

I made this adorable little turtle using Create A Critter Cricut Cart. I welded the turtle to create a little shaped card (cut at 3"). On the inside of the turtle I stamped the "slow down and get well soon" from Pond Life Sentiments by Papertrey Ink. For the turtle I kept him pretty simple, with just a little white stitching around the shell and some green stickles.

... love going to the pool, love the late nights, love the lazy days, love bike riding with the boys, love naps. Don't love that I never have time to craft. I miss my scrapbooking room and I miss making cards. I have not made a card in days. Yes, days. I know!

Thankfully once I saw the new challenge by Embellish Magazine I told everyone in my house that I needed some crafting time.

I made this card using a Cricut shape from Just Because Cards. I adhered the boat onto the circle with removable glue and created a mask. I then inked around it with Walnut Ink (distress ink). The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.

I am entering this card in two challenges; the first is for CAS-ual Friday's Challenge Blog, where we needed to create a card with a fun edge. The second is for Embellish Magazine Blog posted the color Challenge over at their blog. I loved the colors that they picked. I created my background stamp by using Tombow markers onto watercolor paper and then used water to blend the colors together. I stamped the butterfly using Momento Ink (once the paper was really dried otherwise the ink will run). I adhered the background paper onto a card base that was cut at 4x4".

Hi everyone:

I made this card for this week's Make It Monday challenge over at Papertrey Ink. I tried to make a polaroid frame based on the technique taught. I first made the frame using the Cricut and then inked inside the kraft paper with old paper distress ink. I stamped two cupcakes onto the paper and paper pieced one of the frosting. I then adhered the frame on top of the kraft paper. Notice I stamped one cupcake out of the frame to look like a photo that has the image not centered... lol,.

Make It Monday #20: Reverse Masking

Hi everyone:

Great technique featured today over at Papertrey Ink! Love the reverse masking. I made this card by stamping the umbrella onto white card stock and then stamping the flower from "Delightful Dahlia" on top of the umbrella using the mask. I colored the flower image using Copics. I then cut the umbrella out and adhered it to the background using dimensional adhesive. As for the rest of the card I kept it pretty simple. I stamped the clouds using a Hero Arts wooden stamp. I stamped the clouds in the distressed ink "faded jeans" onto white watercolor paper and then spritz the clouds using water. I added the rain drops using "weathered wood" and then added a little glitter to the drops using a gel pen.

Make It Monday #19: Rock and Roll Technique

Happy Monday! I made this card for the Papertrey Ink challenge. This week we had to incorporate another stamp color to our image using a rocking technique. Great technique!

I stamped the flower pot from Green Thumb using a green chalk ink and then added some grey to the outer edges of the pot. I then stamped the flower from Flower Fusion #1 in orange and yellow. I stamped the images onto a piece of paper meant for acrylic paint, so it has some fun texture to it. I adhered the paper to the kraft cardstock. I also added some holes to the edges using the Tim Holtz ruler.

All stamps are from Papertrey Ink.

Can you tell what row I picked? I picked the middle row... gems, dies, and flowers. I created this pretty bride from the "Wrap it up" Cricut Cartridge. I cut her at 4.5". I added a little gem to her hair and the flowers to her bouquet. Her bouquet was made with the Hydrangea Hero Arts stamp. I added some stickles to her veil and parts of her dress. I also added some white stitching to the card.

Make it Monday - Card #2

I sure hope its okay that I made another card for the Make it Monday Challenge, but once I started working with tissue paper I could not stop. This card is a little different than the last one, this time I stamped the flower from "Delightful Dahlia" onto the tissue paper and then I glued it to the pattern paper. I loved the effect it gave.

I stamped the sentiment from the Cupcake Collection also by Papertrey Ink onto white cardstock and added two gemstones. Thank you Papertrey Ink for such a fun challenge.

Make It Monday #18: Adding Texture with Tissue Paper

Happy Monday everyone!

I love Mondays... lol. Today Papertrey Ink posted another video, this time using tissue paper to add texture to a card. I was so happy to find that I had some tissue paper in my house. I actually bought it months ago to stamp onto candles but I never got around to it. Anyway, I added two layers of tissue paper to the pink pattern paper. I glued the tissue paper with decoupage glue. I stamped the tea cup from Warm Happiness Too onto white cardstock and then I added some "old paper" distress ink to the edges. I also added a strip of kraft cardstock that I wrapped some twine to. I inked the twine as well to give it a vintage feel. I also added a little tea bag to the cup. I created the tea bag by hand cutting the kraft paper and adding baker twine to it. I made a tiny slit into the cup and fed the twine through.

CAS-ual Fridays Challenge CFC5

Today we had a fun sketch to play with over at the CAS-ual Friday's Blog. I made the rainbow and the cloud using the Cricut cartridge - Create a Critter. The rainbow has been cut at 3.25". The dark blue rainbow has been hand cut because I wanted an extra band. The sentiment comes from the Papertrey Ink stamp set "up, up and away". I added some clear stickles to the pink band.

I made this card by adhering different strips of paper diagonally on a card stock, then I cut the excess paper. I stamped the stitching lines with black Momento Ink. The ladies have been cut from a Making Memories Paper Pad, Vintage Finding. I roughed up all the edges using Tim Holtz paper distresser. I stamped the sentiment on white paper and added two white buttons.

Don't you just loooove the Tuesday Triggers posted over at the Moxie Fab World. I love the beautiful photos and I am always so very inspired by them. I created this card by stamping the flowers with blue distress ink, I colored the leaves with a blue-grey Copic. The scallop has been cut at 3" with my cricut. The stamp is by hero arts. I then stamped the pink flower in the scallop with a magenta color by stampin up. I also added some magenta stickles the the flowers.

Make it Monday #17: Cracked Glass Technique.

I was so happy to see this week's video from Papertrey Ink. I love doing the cracked glass technique and do it often with my cards. I love the look. I made this card using the technique demonstrated by the uber talented Heather.

I made the card using the branches from "Out on a Limb" by Papertrey Ink. I stamped the branches in black Momento ink and the leaves in shabby shutters distress ink onto a text piece of pattern paper. I then created the glass look with the UTEE and added some walnut ink to the cracks. I added the image to a piece of brown cardstock that has been adhered to the card with dimensional glue. I added some white stitching around brown cardstock and a thinking of you sentiment (from Lily of the Valley by PTI). At the end I added some stickles to the branches. I added some in black and some in a magenta.

Embellish Magazine Color + Text Challenge

Hi Everyone: I hope you all had a great weekend. We started our backyard.... man oh man, was there a lot to do. Weeding, planting, digging, screaming because we I saw a little bug. Okay, so I hate bugs. We don't have a big backyard, far from it. It is downright tiny, but it is big enough to have some tomato plants and some yellow peppers. We even planted a little herb garden. So much fun.

I also had time to make a card!

Embellish Magazine challenged its viewers to create a card using the following colors: black, gray, white and blue (somewhat a blue-gray). We also needed to incorporate text in our card. I created my card by stamping butterflies onto text paper. I stamped some butterflies in gray and some in black. I then cut the banner in blue paper and stamped the sentiment on top. Once I placed the banner one of my butterflies could not be seen so I then re-stamped it and cut the butterfly out. I used dimensional glue to adhere the butterfly to the sentiment banner. The grunge look came by rather accidentally... when my card was done I noticed that I had smudge the paper with black ink. So I then played along with it and added some little dots to the paper to create this look.

Moxie Fab World - Chevron Chic Challenge

I am about to confess something, I don't like Chevrons. I know, I know... they are totally trendy and I should love them, but I don't. Polka dots, plaid, stripes... love them all. Chevron... not so much. So when Cath from the Moxie Fab World posed this challenge I was ready not to play. I don't own anything with this crazy zig zag so I really didn't mind. Then today I found this sheet of pattern paper in my collection. I had it because on the flip side there was this awesome ledger print which I totally loved. Imagine my surprise. I quickly cut that paper up and made this card with it.

I cut the paper and adhered it to a card base. The sentiment has been stamped on a kraft banner which I added another strip of white paper behind it to make the kraft pop. Added a little white button and viola, challenge has been met!

Papertrey Ink May Blog Hop

Welcome to this month's Papertrey Ink Blog Hop. This hop is all about flowers. After a long winter's sleep there is nothing better than seeing beautiful flowers peaking through the ground. I stamped the flowers in versamark and then embossed them with white embossing powder. I added some hand cut leaves which have been colored with a green Copic. I wanted to use up lots of papers (to try to use up some of my huge paper stash). I cut the strips from many different papers and then to give them the same feel I used some distress ink on top. I also sanded the papers to give them a worn look.

Make it Monday #16: Sympathy Cards.

I will admit I do not like making sympathy cards. They make me sad and I don't like having them in my stock pile because I think they are "bad luck"... okay, perhaps I am a little crazy. Anyway, I made this sympathy cards for this week's Make it Monday challenge from Papertrey Ink. I used Lily of the Valley stamp and the fillable frame #2 stamp set both by Papertrey Ink. I colored the flowers and the leaves using Copic markers. I added some ribbon and some lace to the card. The sentiment has been stamped onto vellum paper which has been adhered onto a piece of polka dotted paper. All papers are from October Afternoon.

I simply cut two pieces of the Sunny Spot pattern paper from the "Dear Lizzy" line by American Crafts and adhered it onto the card base. I added some bling between the banners. To give the card a little more texture I glued some twine where the banner string was.

Another Monday another Make it Monday card! Today we had to make a card by using our own spray mists. I made the blue mist my adding 4 drops of distress inks re-inkers inside the Tim Holtz mini misters and adding water. To make the card I made an umbrella mask and placed it on a white cardstock. I then sprayed the blue water onto the paper. I sprayed only the top of the card. Dry with a heat gun to make sure that the water does not start to drip. I stamped the umbrella again onto this polka dotted paper and adhered it to the paper using pop dots. I stamped the sentiment at the bottom. Go to Papertrey Ink and get in on the fun!

Embellish Magazine - Tag Challenge

Three posts in one day.... you can tell that it is a rainy day here. I made this card for the Embellish Magazine Color + Tag Challenge. I cut the circle using my cricut at 5". The scallops are little circles cut at 1" and adhered to the back of the circle. I added the ribbon and a light blue flower on top of the little tag. The colored the flower with a Copic because I did not have a blue flower. I stamped the grey cardstock with "stormy sky" using Hero Arts - Large plaid. To finish the card I added some white stitching around the circle and card base. I also added three little white hearts to the bottom because I felt it needed something.

Moxie Fab World - Tuesday Trigger

I made this card for this week's Tuesday Trigger. Loved the inspiration piece. I cut different strips of pattern paper in different widths and adhered them onto a kraft cardstock that has been stamped with Hero Arts - Large Plaid stamp. I then stamped some sewing stitches around the card. The sentiment was stamped in Momento Ink and the swirls were stamped in Worn Lipstick disressed ink.

Hero Arts Challenge - PAINT

I posted this card over at the Hero Arts but also wanted to post it here. The challenge was to "get dirty" either by using paint on a card or by using lots of distress inks. I opted for using paint. I stamped this butterfly by Hero Arts (my favorite stamp ever!). I carefully painted the stamp with pink paint and stamped it onto the white card stock oval. I used a heat gun to help the paint dry faster. I then stamped the sentiment on top of the butterfly with Momento Ink. I did not have a pink strip of paper that was the same as the butterfly, so I painted it...lol. I painted a piece of card stock that had already been scalloped and painted on top with the paint.

This time we needed to create a card using buttons AND twine. I created a baby card using this adorable little bird from a Basic Grey chipboard set. I added some coloring on the bird using Copic to give it some depth. I colored the wings and around the bird. I added some buttons at the bottom of the white cardstock and then added some twine on one button.

I made this card for this week's challenge from Papertrey Ink. We needed to create a card using selective stamping. I stamped the sentiment in two parts.... first I stamped the top of the sentiment in purple and then I stamped the bottom of the sentiment in brown. I stamped the cupcake onto white cardstock and added some paper piecing for the wrap and lots of glitter as the frosting. To finish the card I stitched around the edges using my sew easy.... I just got it and I love it!

Why haven't I played with the Color Throwndown Challenges before? I love the blog and always love the color combos they pick, yet somehow I never played. Well, no more. I made a card for this challenge! I made this card using the "Delightful Dahlias" stamp set from Papertrey Ink. I stamped the flower onto white paper and colored it with Copics. I adhered the pattern paper onto a dark brown piece of cardstock and added the kraft as the leaves of the flower. I also added two tiny pearls to the center of the flower.

Moxie Fab World - A Polka Dotted Hubballoo

Hello Peeps! Hope everyone is doing well. We have had the yuckiest weather here in Toronto. It has been drizzling rain for the last week and there is no sun at all. I miss the sun. I made this card for the Moxie Fab World Challenge, I really liked the inspiration piece, the yellow was so cheery. I found this paper in my stash (SEI) and just about flipped. Isn't it perfect for the challenge? I stamped the little robot onto white cartstock and colored him with Copics and Gel Pens. In real life he is really shinny.

I created this card for the color challenge that is being hosted by Paper Crafts Magazine (best magazine ever!). We needed to create a card based on these three colors. I stamped the flower image straight onto the cardstock and colored it in with a white Primsacolor pencil. The leaves have been colored in with a Copic Marker. The ribbon I believe is from Papertrey Ink, I won it as blog candy so I really don't know, but it is lovely. I added a white button to the middle with some white floss and a glue dot behind the button to keep it in place. I also added some white stitching around the card.

Embellish Magazine Color Challenge

Today's card is inspired by the Embellish Magazine Color Challenge. For this challenge we needed to make a square card using the colors as seen in the first photo. This is why I love entering challenges, they force me to do something I would normally not do.... trust me I am not drawn to these light pastely colors, but once I worked with them I really like it. Anyway, my card is a 4x4 card. I stamped the clouds onto a white strip of paper and the added the scalloped trim to the edges. I cut the balloon with my cricut and added some glossy accents for some shine. The string has been lightly glued in place.

Hi everyone:

I hope everyone is doing well. I made this card for a friend who is going though some trouble. Right now, life is hard and I wanted to send her a card telling her I was thinking of her.

To create the card I inked the watercolor paper with distressed inks. I used Walnut Ink and some Wild Honey by Tim Holtz. I then stamped lily of the valley stamp by Papertrey Ink on top with Momento Ink. I then stamped the script right on top with a couple of different shades. I used Walnut Ink and Tea Dye. I wanted the little flowers to pop more so I inked them with a small brush and some Adirondack Snow Cap Ink. To finish the card I stamped the sentiment onto vellum paper.

Two Papertrey Ink Challenges in one day! How awesome is that? This challenge is to create a card using the technique shown on their video. Love what Nichole did! I create this card using cardstock and the Delightful Dahlias stamp set. First I stamped the flower onto the lilac cardstock then I stamped the leaves. I created the lines free hand and then colored in between the lines with a lilac Tomow marker. I wanted to keep as a one layer card, so I did not add anything to it other than three tiny gemstones.
